His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the reconstitution of the Emirates Health Services' board in efforts to strengthen the sector.
The board, which was initially formed in 2020, will be chaired by the UAE's Minister of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh.
Reporting to the UAE cabinet, Emirates Heath Services will work on proposing and overseeing the implementation of policies, strategies and standards related to healthcare, preventive medicine and public health across the country.
It will also manage and establish federal hospitals, health centres and medical facilities, alongside supporting UAE professionals in the sector.
The federal authority will also be responsible for attracting talent across all fields and expanding on medical research and studies that will advance the healthcare sector.
The new board of directors include Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of Emirates Health Services, who will serve as the Deputy Chairman and Managing Director; Sheikh Maktoum Butti Suhail Butti Al Maktoum, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office in Dubai; Dr. Aisha Mohammed Abdullah Yaseen, Member of the Board of Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University; Abdulwahab Al Halabi, Board Member at Burjeel Holdings; Mohammed Omar Karim, Chief Investment Officer at Dubai Holding Group; and Nitin Khanna Kumar Khanna.
