Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is streamlining driver training across the emirate with the help of its cutting-edge digital platform 'Tadreeb'.

The platform links all driving institutes in Dubai, fully digitising the training and licensing process — from assessments to permits — while using artificial intelligence to personalise learning and improve safety standards.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the RTA’s Licensing Agency, says Tadreeb serves over 250,000 trainees a year across more than 27 locations, supported by over 3,400 instructors and 3,000 training vehicles.

Each training vehicle is geo-tracked, and all data is integrated into a central system for better oversight and decision-making.

Since its launch, the platform has cut waiting times for permits in half, reduced costs, improved trainee assessment accuracy, and helped reduce road fatalities among new drivers.

Tadreeb has also earned global recognition, becoming the first unified driver training platform approved by the International Commission for Driver Testing, and recently won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.

The RTA says it will continue enhancing the system using AI and data analytics to further personalise training and improve road safety.
