The UAE has strongly condemned the second drone attack on its Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which left two security personnel injured and the building damaged.
The first attack, on March 10, caused material damage and no injuries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that targeting diplomatic missions and premises violates all international norms and laws, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
It added that such acts represent a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional security and stability.
The UAE has urged the governments of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to carry out an investigation and hold the perpetrators accountable.
The ministry stressed the UAE’s categorical rejection of such treacherous attacks, emphasizing the need to protect diplomatic missions and their staff in accordance with international laws and norms.
