Depression and anxiety top psychiatric disorders in Abu Dhabi

Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, stress, schizophrenia, addiction and substance abuse are the major psychiatric disorders in Abu Dhabi. Those are the findings gathered by one of the hospitals in the capital which specializes in mental health problems. The World Health Organization has reported that by 2020, depression will be the first cause of medical disability as the number of mental health problems are on the rise worldwide. Dr. Ravi Bangalore, a specialist in psychiatry from Medeor 24x7 Hospital in Abu Dhabi, says there are some main reasons why residents suffer from depression in the emirate.
