Seven people were injured on Saturday when a car drove into pedestrians in the centre of the northern Italian city of Modena, police said.
Police said the driver, a man in his thirties, was arrested and there was no further danger.
Earlier, Italian media said the car crashed into a shop window after hitting people, and the driver had stabbed a passerby who tried to stop him.
