What's happening with Dubai-India flights?

UAE residents are seeking clarity on flights resuming from India to Dubai.

Dubai recently updated travel protocols on June 19, regarding inbound passengers travelling from India to the Emirate.

From Wednesday June 23, flights from India to Dubai were given the green light to resume for fully vaccinated UAE residents to return, so long as other safety protocols, such as PCR testing, were met.

As of now, there is confusion whether flights can proceed as announced.

Members of the public have been tweeting various UAE carriers for clarity. Their responses have varied from stating they will be “available from July 7th onwards” to “we plan to resume flights soon”. They have also referred to waiting for exact travel protocols and relevant permits from Government authorities, and to keep an eye on their website for travel updates.

Neither Etihad Airways or Emirates Airline have updated their websites with the latest travel information as previously announced. The information currently available is still in line with past protocol where only select categories of passengers can enter Dubai. These include UAE nationals, UAE golden visa holders, members of diplomatic missions, passengers exempted and/or granted permissions to enter the UAE as well as business flights with valid paperwork and permissions.

Cargo and select transit flights are also operating.
