The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has ordered the closure of 12 domestic worker recruitment agencies for operating without "necessary licences".
The firms have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.
The Ministry also detected 300 violations committed by 57 domestic worker recruitment offices throughout the country in 2025.
It is part of efforts by the MOHRE to "regulate the operations of domestic worker recruitment agencies to ensure they comply with the law".
The authority also cautioned the public against dealing with unlicensed recruitment firms and urged them to check its website for the full list of authorised companies and report "illegal practices" via its official channels or call centre (600590000).
Community members have also been encouraged to report illegal activities by dialling 80084.
