The UAE is set to boost the tourism economy with a special focus on the domestic sector over the next three months, announced Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri.
In an interview with Dubai Eye's 103.8 The Business Breakfast show, Al Marri shared that loyalty programmes, reduced prices and more are expected to support citizens and residents in the UAE.
He added that two major initiatives - 'VisitUAE' and 'UAE Grand Tour' - have been at the forefront of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which kicked off on Monday with over 2,500 exhibitors and 160 countries.
The first campaign focuses on touring all seven emirates, and the second encourages tourists to stay in the country for more than 11 nights.
Commenting on Dubai's volume of visitors during August, which reached its highest since February, with 869,000 international overnight visitors, Al Marri said the UAE's tourism sector will continue to grow.
Speaking on the impact of the regional conflict on the country's economy, he noted that the tourism and economic sectors, despite taking a hit initially, are bouncing back.
