Dubai International (DXB) is set to end the month of January as the world's busiest global airport, with over 5.03 million scheduled seats.
That's according to aviation consultancy OAG's latest rankings, calculated on the basis of seat capacity.
DXB overtook Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which slipped into second place with 4.72 million seats as its capacity decreased by 8 per cent compared to last month.
Tokyo- Haneda, Guangzhou and London Heathrow airports rounded out the top five spots.
