UAE and Philippines celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, attended a reception hosted by Alfonso Ferdinand Ver, Ambassador of the Philippines to the UAE, marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the countries.

The event was held at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi and was attended by Abdul Aziz Al Neyadi, the Director of East Asia and Pacific Department, senior UAE officials, members of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, and members of the Filipino community.

Ambassador Ver praised the wise policy of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the relations between both countries. He stressed his country's eagerness to further strengthen cooperation with the UAE across all fronts.

He also highlighted achievements made by the UAE in different sectors.

In June, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, was received by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Manila. T

he UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his deep appreciation for the role of the Filipino community residing in the UAE in supporting the country's development plans and programmes in various sectors.
