UN praises UAE's role in supporting global humanitarian efforts

In the face of ongoing conflicts and natural disasters, the UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering crucial humanitarian aid and supporting affected communities.

The country’s role in global relief efforts is highly regarded, with international leaders and organisations often citing the UAE as a model for effective aid and coordination.

Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), commended the UAE’s support, stating, "The UAE is a major partner, providing valuable support that helps us provide aid to those in need quickly in times of crisis. This cooperation ensures our ability to achieve our humanitarian mission and secure food aid for people affected by humanitarian disasters."

The UAE’s efforts in global food security and its innovative approaches to addressing food crises have been significant, ensuring aid reaches vulnerable populations in conflict zones.

Khaled Khalifa, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees' Representative to the GCC, praised the UAE’s unwavering support, emphasising its profound impact in providing essential resources and hope.

"We express our gratitude to partners like the United Arab Emirates, whose humanitarian contributions from both the public and private sectors have been a beacon of hope for forcibly displaced persons and host communities worldwide," he said.

The UAE continues to support humanitarian programmes for refugees, offering financial aid and vital services like education, healthcare and social support through various agencies.

This comprehensive support highlights the country's dedication to global humanitarian issues and its role in fostering stability and security for affected communities.
