The tenth group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients arrived in the UAE on Wednesday for medical treatment.

Departing from Egypt's Al Arish International Airport, the plane touched down at Abu Dhabi International Airport, carrying 86 Palestinians accompanied by family members.

The latest arrivals are part of the response to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide medical treatment for 1,000 wounded children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip.

A team from the national news agency WAM accompanied the plane and spoke with the families upon their arrival. They praised the UAE's unique model in addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people.

The UAE has provided widespread support to Gaza since the start of the war, launching Operation Gallant Knight 3 in November 2023 to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. UAE hospitals have received 474 Palestinian children and cancer patients, while the total number of cases received at the UAE field hospital in Gaza has reached 3,575 cases.

The UAE also established a 150-bed field hospital in Gaza.

Additionally, the country launched six desalination plants in Rafah, Egypt, to address the dire water infrastructure situation in Gaza and ensure access to safe drinking water. The plants desalinate about 1.2 million gallons per day, pumping them through pipes extending into the Strip.

Alongside Gallant Knight, the UAE has implemented the Tarahum - for Gaza campaign. As part of that initiative, the United Arab Emirates University has welcomed 33 students from the Gaza Strip to study at the expense of the UAE.
