The UAE will provide urgent humanitarian relief to help victims of flood-devastated states in Malaysia.

Under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, a delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) will head to Malaysia to oversee relief operations and deliver the humanitarian needs to the most affected areas.

The first phase, Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, ERC's Secretary-General, explained will focus on shelter, food and health requirements.

Nearly 63,000 people have been displaced by the floods, with infrastructure and public utilities damaged across 33 districts in eight states.
