UAE air defences responded to three drones that entered the country from the western border area on Sunday, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Two were successfully intercepted, while the third struck an electricity generator outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Al Dhafra region.
The ministry added that investigations are underway to determine the source of the attacks, noting that further details will be announced when completed.
The Ministry of Defence also reaffirmed that it remains fully prepared to deal with any threats and will respond firmly to any attempt to undermine the country’s security, in order to safeguard the UAE’s sovereignty, stability and national interests.
