The UAE Fatwa Council has announced that the moon-sighting committee will meet on Tuesday at 6:00 pm at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi to indicate the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
The council explained that the committee’s work will begin after the Maghrib prayer, where reports and results from observatories around the UAE will be studied, alongside looking into testimonies from different areas of the country in accordance with the approved procedures.
The committee will be chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Sheikh Al Mahfouz bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Council for Fatwa, and attended by Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Vice-Chairman of the Council.
