UAE President welcomes Kuwait's Emir on state visit

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as he landed in Abu Dhabi on a state visit.

According to the national news agency WAM, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court was also present at the reception at the Presidential Airport.

The Kuwait Emir's flight received a ceremonial escort of UAE military jets as "a gesture of warm welcome to the nation’s distinguished guest".

Sheikh Mishal was sworn in as ruler in December following the death of his brother Sheikh Nawaf.

Sheikh Mohamed and the Kuwaiti Emir reviewed the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Kuwait and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of shared interest.

During the meeting at Qasr Al Watan, their Highnesses explored the importance of fostering collaboration across the Gulf in response to the challenges confronting both the region and the wider world.

Their discussions centred on pursuing the shared objectives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, with a particular focus on strengthening regional security and stability.

The two leaders emphasised that the UAE and Kuwait stand as key supporters of these collective efforts.
