UAE President congratulates UFC Middleweight World Champion

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has met with recently crowned UFC Middleweight World Champion Khamzat Chimaev following his victory in Chicago.

His Highness congratulated Chimaev on his world title during the meeting at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, wishing him continued success in his sporting career and further international honours.

Chimaev thanked the UAE leader for his strong support towards the country’s sports sector and athletes, including his efforts to nurture and empower emerging talent.

The UFC Champion added that the support has played a key role in raising the international profile of Emirati competitors and enabling their success on the world stage.

Chimaev earned his dominant victory back in August, where he played against Dricus du Plessis at the United Centre in Chicago.
