The UAE is reinforcing its global role in combating extremism and terrorism.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has appointed Maqsoud Kruse as Envoy for Countering Extremism and Terrorism.
The appointment reflects the UAE’s commitment to international cooperation and its vision of promoting tolerance, coexistence and moderation while fighting hate speech and discrimination.
The envoy will work to strengthen global partnerships, represent the UAE at key conferences, and help implement international resolutions, including those of the UN Security Council, aimed at countering extremism and terrorism.
Kruse expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Abdullah for the trust and confidence placed in him.
He reaffirmed his commitment to work closely with international partners and convey the UAE's experience and vision in strengthening global efforts to counter extremism and terrorism, as well as in exchanging expertise and best practices.
