The UAE has extended its condolences and solidarity to Azerbaijan following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane in Kazakhstan.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sympathy to the government and people of Azerbaijan, as well as to the families of the victims, and wished a swift recovery to those injured in the disaster.

The plane flying from Azerbaijan to Russia crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday with 62 passengers and five crew on board. Kazakh authorities said that 32 survivors had been rescued.
Azerbaijan Airlines said the Embraer 190 jet was flying from Baku to Grozny, capital of the Chechnya region in southern Russia, but had been forced to make an emergency landing around 3 km (1.8 miles) from Aktau.
