UAE evacuates 155 injured patients from Gaza

The UAE, in cooperation with the World Health Organisation, has carried out a medical evacuation from Gaza, transporting 155 patients and their families for treatment.

The flight departed from Ramon Airport in Israel via Karam Abu Salem crossing, national news agency Wam reported.

The critically wounded patients have been moved to various hospitals in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, patients with less critical injuries or conditions and their families have been housed at Emirates Humanitarian City for specialised care. They will also be provided with educational and cultural support. 

The move comes under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide medical treatment for 1,000 Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients in the UAE.

So far, the UAE has evacuated 2,785 patients and their families since the start of the conflict.
