The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and the Central Bank of Egypt affirmed their full and continuous cooperation and coordination regarding the normal operation of Bank Misr branches in the United Arab Emirates.
This came as a follow-up to the proposal issued by the US Treasury Department regarding a regulatory rule that would impose a special measure relating to the branches of Bank Misr in the United Arab Emirates due to a reported money laundering concern.
In a joint statement on Sunday night, the two banks explained that Bank Misr branches in the United Arab Emirates will take all necessary actions and measures during the specified period.
