UAE COVID-19 vaccinations cross 10-million mark

The UAE has successfully hit the 10-million vaccination milestone just months after launching its inoculation drive.

The country administered 101,239 vaccines on Thursday, taking the total number of vaccinations to 10,001,241.

Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, underlined the importance of getting vaccinated in the fight against COVID-19.

The UAE currently offers four types of vaccines for free and "they are safe and highly efficient".

Abdul Rahman highlighted that the "achievement is the outcome of the vision and directives of the country’s leadership and the significant efforts of the health sector and all front-line defenders to protect the community's health and safety".

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of the National COVID-19 Crisis Recovery Management and Governance Committee, highlighted that the UAE is "steadily advancing towards recovery".
