UAE and Japan sign defence pact

The UAE and Japan have signed a defence cooperation agreement.

It will see the two sides carry out joint research, development and production projects as well as strengthen ties in the military and defence sectors.

The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by Major General Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defence Industries at the UAE Ministry of Defence, and Akio Isomata, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE.
