A two-year-old child has drowned in a family pool in Al Ain.

According to Abu Dhabi Police, they received a report about the incident that occurred in the Jebel Hafeet area.

Officials have once again called on parents to keep children supervised at all times, saying that parental carelessness is the main reason for such accidents.

They say fences should be put around pools and that doors leading to them should remain locked, while children need to wear safety accessories such as armbands when in and around the water.
