Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced it will add 3,268 new cabs to its Dubai Taxi fleet from 2016 to 2020. The five-year plan will bring the total number of taxis in the emirate to 12,765, an increase of about 34% from 2015. Officials say the move aims to meet future demand. In 2014, the RTA launched the Drivers Qualification Centre in Dubai, the first specialised smart centre for training taxi drivers.
