Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested seven people since the start of 2025 for spreading "rumours" that stir public opinion.
The Police’s General Command explained that the individuals were detained after being monitored by its cybercrime department.
They were found sharing footage and written content of “inappropriate practices” on social media platforms - some of which were reportedly considered "inaccurate" and "false".
The Police described it as a clear violation of the country’s laws related to combating rumours and false information.
The authority did not clarify the specific nature of the content, but urged the public to avoid reposting unverified content or posts that may harm public interests.
