Prince William will be heading to Expo 2020 Dubai on Thursday to be part of the UK National Day celebrations.

The British royal, who is on an official visit to the UAE, will tour the Expo 2020 site and watch a performance celebrating the UK at Al Wasl Plaza.

He will also kick off the Queen's Baton Relay to the Commonwealth Games being held in England this summer.

The baton will pass by Commonweath pavilions participating in Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Duke of Cambridge will also highlight his environmental Earthshot Prize and is expected to meet His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council.

The visit to Expo 2020 Dubai caps a busy day for the Prince, which started off with a visit to Abu Dhabi's Jubail Mangrove Park, where he learned more about the UAE’s efforts to protect regional flora and fauna from human and environmental challenges.

He also visited Jebel Ali Port to learn more about efforts to tackle the illegal wildlife trade. The Port's operator, DP World, supports United for Wildlife, established by the Prince in 2014.

"Excited to be arriving in Dubai to celebrate the UK at @DubaiExpo and discuss the vital issue of working together with the UAE and international partners to achieve a more sustainable world," William wrote on his social media channels.
