Omar Sharif’s final film to premiere at DIFF

The legacy of renowned Egyptian actor Omar Sharif will be celebrated at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) in December. This year’s event will hold the world premiere screening of Sharif’s last film, ‘1001 Inventions and the World of Ibn Al-Haytham’. The actor, who passed away in July, came out of retirement to support the short film, which focuses on the accomplishments of the 11th century Arab philosopher Ibn Al-Haytham. The UK and UAE co-produced film is also competing in the Muhr Gulf Short category at the Festival. DIFF runs from December 9-16.
