No accidents reported during Dubai's NYE celebrations

Dubai Police confirmed that no accidents or injuries were reported across the 30 locations allocated for the emirate's New Year's Eve celebrations.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, praised the professionalism and efficiency of the Executive Committee for Securing International and Local Events in smoothly controlling the traffic and ensuring safety and ease of access during the celebrations.

He hailed the efforts of the Committee, which included 48 entities and institutions that worked tirelessly to ensure smooth proceedings.

A total of 10,579 police officers, 5,800 security guards, 1,420 volunteers, 3,651 patrols and vehicles, and 45 security boats were deployed across major locations.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs said that the force handled 20,337 calls (from December 31 until 6:00 am on January 1), which included 19,147 calls on the emergency hotline 999, and 1,190 calls on the non-emergency number 901.
