 
                                    The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has launched special patrols to monitor and control vehicles and tanks transporting dangerous materials on the emirate's roads.
Drivers will be checked to make sure they comply with the necessary safety and preventative measures for moving flammable or hazardous loads.
The "Shield Patrols" will operate around the clock seven days a week, on all highways across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
Strict penalties will be enforced against violators of the Civil Defence regulations.
