The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has warned private companies against registering UAE nationals in fake or dummy positions.

"Re-employing Emiratis in the same establishment to manipulate data and benefit from incentives from the government also fall under false Emiratisation measures," the ministry explained in a series of tweets on Wednesday.

Establishments caught committing fraud will be fined and referred to Public Prosecution.

According to the new rule, all private firms that employ 50 or more workers must raise their Emiratisation rate in skilled jobs by 2 per cent annually.

From January 2023, companies that fail to meet the target will be given an AED 72,000 fine annually for each UAE citizen not employed.
