
A 3.5 earthquake struck the Al Sila’ area in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
In a statement, the NCM confirmed that the tremor was lightly felt in the vicinity of Al Sila’, but emphasised that it caused no significant impact or damage.
Al Sila’ is a coastal town located in the far western region of Abu Dhabi, near the border with Saudi Arabia and is part of the Al Dhafra region.
Seismic activity as such is considered minor and typically is not dangerous.
