Employees of a firm in Abu Dhabi have been arrested for attempting to bribe a police officer in the capital.

In a post on their official facebook page, Lt. Colonel Matar Madad Al Muhairi, Head of the Anti-Corruption Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said the  workers had offered the bribe in exchange for submitting falsified information to the authorities.

The officer refused to accept the money and, instead, referred them to the Public Prosecution.

"We will not be complacent in tackling corruption and prosecuting its perpetrators in order to protect public money," asserted Major General Fares Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police.

"We will continue to motivate our policemen to act with integrity," he added, urging the public to report any corrupt acts by dialing 8002626 or texting 2828.
