Dubai has honoured its top-performing students as they prepare to head to some of the world’s top universities.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, met with recipients of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme and the Ruler’s Court Higher Education Scholarship at a ceremony held in the emirate.

The event celebrated outstanding high school graduates from public and private schools, including 40 top achievers recognised under Dubai’s Top Achievers programme.

In a message to the students, Sheikh Ahmed praised their dedication and said they represent the future of Dubai, adding that investing in human capital remains a national priority.

On Thursday, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, sent personal SMS messages to the top-performing high school graduates and their parents, congratulating them on their achievement and expressing his pride in their success.

The Hamdan bin Mohammed Scholarship Programme, launched in 2024, is part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and will fund 100 Emirati students annually, covering tuition, living and travel expenses.

This year, 413 students applied, with recipients set to study disciplines like engineering, law, health sciences and IT at 45 top-ranked universities in the UAE and abroad.
