The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) says a "strategic resumption" of air traffic across the United Arab Emirates continues after 1.4 million passengers used the country's airport between March 1-12.

The GCAA also revealed that there have been 7,839 air traffic movements recorded in UAE airspace since the start of March with a 44.6 percentage of operational recovery achieved by UAE national carriers during a period of regional tension.

In a statement on their X account posted tonight, the GCAA said: "Our national airports and carriers are seeing a progressive and strategic resumption of flight activity, driven by high operational readiness and seamless air traffic management.

"This gradual restoration highlights the resilience of the UAE’s aviation sector and its capacity to maintain world-class connectivity.

"With passenger and crew safety as the absolute priority, all operations are being conducted under the highest global standards to ensure a reliable and secure travel experience."

They added: "To ensure a streamlined journey, please verify your flight status and check for the latest updates from your airline before departing for the airport."
