Etihad Airways to operate limited inbound flights starting May 9

Etihad Airways will be operating limited one-way flights to Abu Dhabi starting May 9.

According to the airliner’s official website, the move aims to help residents return to the UAE after airports were shut worldwide following the COVID-19 outbreak.

The national carrier has clarified that it is mandatory for all residents to apply for ICA (Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship) approval via the UAE Tawajudi Resident service made available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s (MoFAIC) website.

People will need to present the ICA approval number to Etihad's call centre agents in order to book a flight back to the country.

All passengers will undergo PCR and thermal testing when they arrive at Abu Dhabi International Airport, and will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.
