Both public and private sector entities have been asked to nominate at least 45% of their male Emirati employees who are qualified for military service. Companies have also been advised to prepare a backup list of another 10% candidates, in case some included in the first list don’t meet requirements. Training is mandatory for all able-bodied Emirati men aged between 18 and 30, while it’s optional for women.
