Ras Al Khaimah Police have rescued eight foreign nationals after they were stranded at an altitude of 3,500 feet in a rugged mountainous region.

Taking to their official social media handle, Colonel Abdullah Ali Al-Shahi, head of the Inaba Air Wing Division in Ras Khaimah Police, said they rushed to help after receiving a distress call about the group.

A helicopter was dispatched to the location, and the group airlifted to a "safe accessible area".

Ras Al Khaimah Police have urged trekkers to exercise caution when heading to the mountains and to avoid rugged areas and valley streams that pose a threat to their safety.
