More than 73,000 people are expected to arrive at Dubai International Airport today as the seasonal rush of travellers returning home at the end of the summer holidays hits its peak.

Officials say Saturday is the busiest day of a period which sees around 800,000 UAE residents land in Dubai.

In total, they say DXB will welcome roughly three million passengers between August 20 and 31.

Residents are being reminded to use their Emirates ID at smart gates in order to get past immigration quickly
