Dubai has launched an initiative aimed at developing future-ready legislation and strengthening the emirate's position as a global hub for innovation and economic competitiveness.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, attended the launch of the Dubai Future Regulations Team, established under the supervision of Dubai Future Foundation and the Supreme Legislation Committee.
The team brings together representatives from 25 government entities and will focus on anticipating legislative opportunities and challenges across key sectors, while ensuring Dubai's regulatory framework keeps pace with rapid advances in technology and economic transformation.
Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai will continue to develop a global model for legislative readiness, noting that flexible and forward-looking legislation is essential to supporting innovation, sustainable growth and a future economy.
The new team will work to strengthen collaboration across government entities, identify legislative barriers, develop practical regulatory solutions and expand local and international partnerships.
It will also invest in national talent through specialised training programmes, including a capacity-building initiative in collaboration with University College London (UCL), aimed at enhancing expertise in legislative development and innovation.
The initiative forms part of Dubai's broader efforts to reinforce its reputation as one of the world's most future-ready cities and a leader in government innovation.
