The Dubai Ports Police Station has clocked only 12 minutes and 30 seconds average response time to emergencies in the city's waters, against its target of 15 minutes.

That's one of the details highlighted during the annual inspection of the station, which responded to a total of 152 cases in 2021.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, praised the Dubai Ports Police Station for their vital role in maintaining the maritime security of Dubai and monitoring and controlling the coastal navigation movement across the emirate's waters.

Meanwhile, the station's average response time for non-emergency cases was at 10.8 minutes while the target was 30 minutes.

It also handled 13 bounced cheques and amiably settled 10 of them, worth AED 2 million.
