Dubai Police are warning the public about a rise in fraudulent advertisements on social media claiming to offer recruitment and placement services for domestic workers and support staff.

The Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, says these ads are run by scammers whose goal is to illegally obtain money from unsuspecting residents.

Authorities are urging anyone looking to hire domestic help to deal only with licensed and accredited recruitment offices within the UAE.

Residents are strongly advised not to transfer any money to individuals or companies promoting recruitment services outside official and legal channels.

Following approved procedures is the only way to protect the rights of employers, workers and recruitment agencies.

The warning comes as part of Dubai Police’s ongoing #BewareofFraud campaign, which aims to raise public awareness about evolving scam tactics.

Fraudulent ads or other suspicious activities can be reported through the Dubai Police Smart App, the eCrime platform for cybercrime reports, or by calling the non-emergency hotline 901.
