A commemorative medal has been issued by the Dubai Sports Council in recognition of the special efforts of people from public and private institutions during the recent unusual weather conditions.
It's a gesture of gratitude in honour of the unrelenting work of the UAE's first line of defence, including the police, municipality, civil defence, health, ambulance, airport, road and transport services, and all others who toiled day and night to ensure the safety of the community.
The medal includes an embossed logo of the Dubai Sports Council along with the words of gratitude: "To you, our hero".
It will be handed out to participants at upcoming sports events in Dubai, in the presence of these frontline heroes.
