Dubai-based companies will be using taxi services to deliver their products to customers.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has teamed up with outlets such as Union Coop Society and Emirates post for delivery purposes, who also happen to be among the first to join the initiative.
The move is in response to the growing demand for delivery services in the UAE as consumers abide by home-quarantine guidelines and resort to online shopping platforms amidst concerns over COVID-19.
RTA officials have clarified that all precautionary measures have been taken to safeguard the health and safety of both consumers and drivers.
They also explained that the collection and delivery process of orders is completely contactless.
