One of them is said to be a breakthrough drug involving diabetes therapy, whilst the other could decrease mortality in heart failure patients by 20%. Both drugs have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and will be registered in the Emirates before the end of October. The UAE is the first country to introduce the said medicines in the MENA region. The news was announced by His Excellency Dr. Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Licensing at the UAE Ministry of Health at an ongoing pharmaceutical event in Dubai.
