The Ministry of Environment has recently visited the UAE border crossings to enhance food safety in the country especially ahead of the festive season of Eid Al Adha. MoE travelled to the border crossing to inspect the procedures being carried out when animal and agricultural consignments enter the country. According to WAM, the Mazyad and Khatam Al Shukla areas are two of UAE’s major border posts for such imports and exports. The ministry has designated qualified veterinarians, agricultural engineers along with sound technical systems to speed up the acquisition of laboratory test results, importing only from countries that comply with international standards.
