Abu Dhabi Police has launched a dedicated Environmental Police Patrol in the Al Dhafra region as part of efforts to strengthen environmental and wildlife protection across the emirate.
The new patrol operates under the Environmental Police Department within the Special Patrols Directorate of the Criminal Security Sector.
The authority said it is designed to improve monitoring of the terrestrial environment, protect natural resources and respond more quickly to environmental violations.
It added that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to environmental sustainability and aligns with national priorities aimed at preserving biodiversity and improving quality of life.
The force added that the patrol will work closely with strategic partners to enhance readiness and ensure rapid responses to reports related to environmental damage or illegal activities.
Officials said the move is also intended to raise public awareness about environmental protection and encourage community participation in safeguarding natural heritage.
The initiative forms part of Abu Dhabi Police’s wider strategy to support sustainable development and maintain a safe, balanced environment for future generations.
