Abu Dhabi newborns will be registered for school at birth

Emirati children will be enrolled for schools in Abu Dhabi right after their birth is registered.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Smart Solutions and Services Authority (ADSSSA) to launch the new ‘Pre-Registration for School’ service through the TAMM system.

Parents will now be able to access the ‘Pre-Registration for Schools’ service upon completion of their child's birth registration process with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi.

Through ADSSSA's TAMM system, a public school is recommended to the parents based on their registered place of residence.

The child will also be assigned a unique student number for ADEK's student information system (eSIS), which will collect all relevant data and send notifications to the parents to confirm the registration with the school name.

Upon reaching the age of enrolment, the eSIS will automatically reserve a slot for the child and send a confirmation message to the parents.

However, should there be a change in residence over the four-year period, the TAMM system will detect the new residency area and notify the parents with a new recommend school.

H.E Dr. Youssef Al Sheryani, Undersecretary of ADEK, said that these initiatives will continue to enhance Abu Dhabi's leading efforts in education excellence and promote the emirate’s digital transformation through collaboration among entities.
