His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai has introduced a new recognition law.

Law No.12 of 2024, establishing prestigious scarves, medals, badges, and orders will recognise outstanding contributions in charitable, humanitarian, and voluntary work, as well as significant achievements in culture, sports, arts, and scientific fields.

They can be awarded to individuals, institutions, and companies whose efforts have made a profound impact in their respective fields.

A dedicated team, the General Secretariat of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Medals, will be established within His Highness's Executive Office and will oversee the classification of awards and determine eligibility criteria.

According to the law, the awards will be granted by patent from His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, or by designated authorities on his behalf and will be presented on national occasions, official celebrations, and during special visits both domestically and internationally.

The introduction of these honours underscores His Highness Sheikh Mohammed's commitment to fostering excellence across various sectors and honouring those who contribute significantly to society.

The awards aim to encourage continued dedication to humanitarian causes, scientific advancement, and cultural enrichment, reflecting Dubai's commitment to global leadership.

The law will take effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette, marking a significant milestone in Dubai's efforts to celebrate and support excellence in charitable, scientific, and cultural endeavors.
