South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt led her team to a dominant 10-wicket victory over the West Indies in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai on Friday.
The South African bowlers were impressive in the Group B encounter, restricting the West Indies to just 118 runs, with Nonkululeko Mlaba claiming 4 wickets for 29 runs.
Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits made light work of the chase, reaching their target with 13 balls to spare.
Wolvaardt scored an unbeaten 59, while Brits added 57 runs to the tally.
The West Indies now face crucial upcoming matches against Scotland, Bangladesh, and England in Group B.
South Africa's strong start gives them hope of going further in the tournament and potentially clinching the title.
